Dog Day Afternoons
0/0 04.04.2008 04:16 English
Damage (verb): Bang up (sl), physical harm reducing the value, operation, or usefulness of something.
Damage (The strip character)
For the most part the name Damage is derived from the not so inconsequential demeanor of the main character featured in Dog Day Afternoons. He earned his name from what he did naturally, cause damage wherever he went. Whether intentionally or not, he was Damage by name and Damage(d) by nature.
His has the proverbial 'chip on the shoulder' mentality that has its beginnings in a back street upbringing scavenging food from the cans under the disdainful eye of the local cat populous. It was from these small beginnings he developed his own perculiar brand of disdain for cats, real or otherwise.
Black Cat (The strip character)
Is a 'toon character safely enscounced in TVland, safe from the actual presence of Damage but able on all and every occasion to hear and know what Damage thinks or is thinking at any given time.
This is both her gift and her curse! Knowing she knows what Damage is thinking yet forgetting (often) that Damage can no more reach her through the TV screen than she Black Cat could run away and hide out of Damage's sight.
